OpenLink™: Software for Microwave Planning

Radio Dynamics offers an innovative, flexible approach to microwave frequency planning to meet the dynamic needs of the telecommunications industry with OpenLink™ , a powerful suite of microwave planning tools. The software utilizes a client-server architecture to provide maximum capabilities without requiring expensive, high performance workstations at the user location.
OpenLink™ is accessed through standard PCs using Internet Web browsers. OpenLink’s powerful suite of design and frequency planning tools, along with comprehensive databases, are accessible via dial-up modem or LAN access to the Internet. The client-server architecture allows centralized maintenance and administration of software programs and database administration by Radio Dynamics. The user is free from software and database updates that are maintained by Radio Dynamics on centralized application and database servers.

A user-friendly interface efficiently guides the user through the frequency coordination process. The software will access OpenLink’s comprehensive, nationwide databases of microwave paths, earth stations, terrain, equipment and antenna patterns to perform complex analyses that are fully industry compliant with TIA Bulletin 10 and other industry-accepted criteria. Integrated "smart" features, such as automatic frequency selection, reduce the time-consuming job of choosing interference-free frequencies. Detailed reports of interference conditions are provided to resolve outstanding interference conditions.

Prior Coordination Notices may be prepared for distribution and transmitted electronically to other frequency coordinators who support the NSMA format for electronic PCNs or printed for paper distribution. Data for FCC license applications is provided in convenient formats.
