POSEIDON uses
interference criteria adopted by the Telecommunications Industry Association
(under Telecommunications Systems Bulletin 10-F) and techniques endorsed
by the Federal Communications Commission to accurately compute interference
between AWS systems and incumbents. It also conforms to the
standard for electronic prior coordination notices (EPCNs) developed
by the National Spectrum Managers Association (under Working Group
20 requirements). Radio Dynamics' leadership and commitment to standards
compliancy is resonated by its president Thu Nguyen: "POSEIDON's
full compliance with industry standards and detailed technical reports
remove any uncertainty from negotiations and technical discussions
with existing spectrum incumbents." Radio Dynamics' POSEIDON uses
a web browser user interface to visually display blockage and relocation
schemes for each AWS frequency, relative
position and terrain cross sections, and color maps of system data
while making the data available in complete ASCII export files that
interface with common database applications. It also supports multiple
AWS technologies AWS equipment manufacturers).
The POSEIDON package, a predecessor of POSEIDON was used
by BellSouth Mobility DCS, Western PCS, GTE Mobilnet, Southwestern
Bell Mobile Systems, Omnipoint, Ameritech, NextWave, T-Mobile, Cingular
Wireless and other telecommunications consulting companies all of
which realize POSEIDON expedites
operations through its EPCN Generator and automatic drive test frequency
locator, features that save time and money.
Radio Dynamics' customer base is varied, yet consistent in their
expectations of a quality product that will bring them to market
fast. POSEIDON was used by PCS
companies, most notably the majority of those whom were first to market;
by UTAM members for unlicensed operations; and by several consulting
companies.
